Question Low-Carb Tortilla Wrap

Auto generated link to page (Please do not remove): http://www.lowcarb.ca/recipes/rrecipe005.html

I was just wondering what is soy protein isolate? Where can I get it? I live in Canada and came across soy flour and other nut flour that are gluten free. Is that what you're refering to?

Can't wait to have a a tortilla to wrap my tuna fish salads.

Thanks

Hi Kaitlin,

It's soy protein powder and it's should be available at most health food and some bulk stores. Make sure you get a non-flavoured one

Thumbs up

When making tortilla wraps, I have been greatly frustrated by the tendency of these things to stick to a cookie sheet regardless of how well greased it is. I solved the problem using parchment paper. Clean up is minimal, and the tortilla falls off the paper when you turn it over.

I've also found that adding garlic or onion powder, dill weed or other green spices improves the taste a bit.

Question

Hi Y'all
Do you suppose that Soy Powder would be the same thing? Or would it work the same?
I have no Bulk Barn....in fact I don't have much except overpriced specialty bulk and health food stores , and I'm pretty grumpy about it too!

But a good tortilla could lighten my mood!Pretty shallow eh?

I don't bother to try to make them round, instead, I use parchment paper the size of a cookie sheet, placed in a cookie sheet, and find that 1/2 of the recipe makes a wrap nearly the size of a cookie sheet. The carb count is lower than commercial low carb tortillas, but since they became available in my market, I use them much more that this recipe
